News For Port Loring Ontario

Members of the Powassan Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on the scene of a single vehicle fatal motor vehicle collision on Highway 522 and Seagull Lake Rd in Arnstein yesterday.

At this time we can confirm that the lone occupant is deceased and the highway is closed for the investigation. The identity of the driver is being withheld at this time pending next of kin notification.

Black flies are out there enjoying themselves, but not bothering us to much. Seems the longer one lives here in the north and the longer one gets prepared for them, the less one has to tolerate them. They do get to buggin’ a feller if one gets to disturbing them in the grass or soil. But mostly just a nuisance flying around ones head, getting in ones nose and eyes, at least for me. Other than that not to bad. Today is nice and sunny and will be getting some sunshine on the old skin for an hour or so. Sure feels good. Seems it just draws the aches and pains right out of the old body. Not that I have to many these days. Feeling good actually. Guess I am doing things right.

Barometer is holding steady at 29.21 in Hg this morning. Winds are from the West coming in at around 2 MPH. The barometer is holding steady at 29.32 in Hg. The winds are from the South West and calm. Boy!!! what could be better? For those that want to try their luck fishing, the old weather stick says the best times to be out there today will be from; 8:00 AM till 11:00 AM, then again from 2:00 PM till 3:00 PM. News For Port Loring

Well not to much to report other than it is one great looking day out there. The black flies are out there now, but if one approaches their day right, they shouldn’t have to deal with them pesky devils to much. First off one should not wear any bug repellent or smelly colognes. Also should say if you are used to using these things, which most are now a days, that it takes a good week to get it out of your system. Best way is to use baking soda to wash your hair with and if you have to have some soap use Ivory hand soap, with no additives in it. Do that an maybe eat a bit of garlic with your food each day and you won’t have any problems with Black Flies. All in how you want to deal with things, simple as that. Also would like to wish all those Mothers or Mothers to be out there the very best on this Mothers Day Weekend.
